LEXINGTON Age 83, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 in Wadhams Creek, in Kimball Twp.
She was born September 22, 1928 in Detroit to Jess and Josephine Pace. She graduated from St. Charles Boeremo High School in 1946, and married John Martin in 1947.
She spent every summer near Lexington since 1934 and moved there permanently in 1949. Pete was active in school activities, P.T.A., Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts when their children were young. She served 9 years as election coordinator for Cros-Lex Schools. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church and the Altar Society and a charter member of the St. Theresa Circle. From 1991 to to 2012 she was a member of the Sanilac County Council on Aging. She enjoyed senior trips, bingo, playing cards and the Lexington Senior Center.
Pete is survived by three sons: Don (Linda) of New Baltimore, Joe of Port Huron, Robert (Aimee) of Lexington; a daughter Nancy (Ed) Robinson of Port Huron. Nine Grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother John Pace and two sisters Janice (Bob) Putz and Christine (Dave) Sheets.
She was preceded in death by her husband John in 1999 and daughter Charlotte in 2003
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, Lexington, The Rev. Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Denis Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Pomeroy Funeral Home, Lexington from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 Tuesday; and 9:30 to 10:30 Wednesday. Vigil service will be held at 7 P.M. Tuesday.
