Abigail R. Bringard

On Wednesday, June 7, 2023 Abigail Ruby Bringard, 26, a beloved daughter, sister, girlfriend, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend passed away as the result of a car accident in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Abby grew up in the Croswell-Lexington community and graduated high school in 2014. She played sports with many friends from elementary school through high school. She played on championship softball teams, cross-country teams, and basketball teams. Abby loved the camaraderie and competition that sports provided. Her life was better because of the time spent with her friends and coaches and the memories she made with them. Abby also loved working–she started her first job on her 16th birthday and has been working at a variety of jobs since then. She also found time to further her education at SC4 and eventually Eastern Michigan University, where she graduated with a BBA in finance in December of 2022. She had been working at Comerica Bank in Detroit since January. Abby also was an adventurous soul. She took a job that allowed her to travel to most of the big cities in the United States for nearly four years and also took personal vacations, a trip to Costa Rica being a favorite of hers. She loved nature and museums. Abby is survived by her parents, Paul and Kathy Bringard, her brother Drew (Kelsey) Bringard, her boyfriend Octavio Vale-Santiago, her Grandparents, Alleida Bringard and Ray and Sharon Gatzke, her Aunts and Uncles and cousins: Greg (Rhonda) Bringard–Matt (Mady), Scarlet, and Olivia, John (Mo) Bringard–Marle, Jerry (Emma) and Jack, Sue (Jim) Hromek–Justin (Helen) McDowell, Sandy (Kyle) Trombley, Steven Hromek, and Sean (Christina) Hromek, and lifelong friend Sadi Overland. Abby also had a wonderful mentor, Coach C (Ed Carleton), who impacted Abby in numerous positive ways. Abby was preceded in death by her Grandma Kitty, Papa Bob and Grandpa Bringard. Visitation for friends will take place on Monday, June 12, from 2-9 pm at Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 13, at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church. Visitation at the Church will start at 10:00am, with a funeral mass at 11:00am. After the funeral service, burial will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Croswell. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the family for purposes of several causes in the community.
