Carl J. Wurmlinger

LEXINGTON – Carl J. Wurmlinger, 76, of Lexington went to be with our Lord Saturday, May 01, 2010, after a long illness. He was born May 12th , 1933, in Croswell, MI to Peter and Minnie Wurmlinger. He married Barbara Martin at St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington on July 26, 1952. They were happily married 49 yrs. and he loved and missed her very dearly until her death May 29th, 2002. He retired from the Mueller Brass Company in Port Huron and was owner of the Water Works Sports Shop in Lexington for many years. He is survived by his six boys, Carl Jr. (Colleen) of Croswell, Andrew of Lexington, Brian (Darlene) of Port Huron, Douglas (Allison) of Croswell, Mark (Becky) of Lexington, Erik of Lexington. He was very proud of his 16 grandchildren and his seven great grandchildren. He has two surviving brothers Peter (Donna) of Croswell and Donald (Joanne) of Lake, Michigan and two sisters Elaine (Leo) of Lexington and Diane (Rick) of Wisconsin. Carl enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved to go camping and fishing when he was younger. After he retired he enjoyed spending winters in Arizona with his wife Barbara. He started golfing later in life and experienced a hole-in-one on the same course as his wife Barbara. Carl served on the Lexington village council for 17 yrs. from 1973-1990. He was active in Cros-Lex Little League and Babe Ruth for many years during the time his sons played. His family was the most important thing to him in this life. He will be sadly missed by all of them. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington. Father Donald Eppenbrock will officiate. Pall Bearers will be his six sons. Visiting will be 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday May 9th at Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. on that day. There will be a viewing for immediate family Saturday May 8th. Burial will be in Lexington Cemetery. A dinner will follow at the St. Denis Hall in Lexington.
