Chase Matthew Dennison

FORT GRATIOT- Chase Matthew Dennison, age 24, of Fort Gratiot, Michigan set sail on his next journey September 10, 2022, surrounded by his proud and adoring family. Chase had spent the last six months valiantly battling post covid complications and he did so with dignity and grace until the very end. Chase was born in Tucson, Arizona on July 19, 1998, to Chip Dennison and Amy Sherrod. Chase attended Port Huron Area Schools and graduated with honors from Port Huron Northern High School in 2017. He then took his many talents to Grand Valley State University and received his Bachelor of Social Work degree, Cum Laude, in April of 2021. Chase was accepted into the Advanced Standing Master of Social Work program at Grand Valley State University and was working diligently to complete his studies. Chase will posthumously receive the degree he worked so hard for and earn those sacred three letters, Chase Matthew Dennison, MSW. Chase was passionate about the things he loved most in life. His family, his friends, the career path he was on and MUSIC. Chase could always be found with an ear bud in his ear, listening to some obscure band, driving Atlas down the street with the wheels vibrating from the bass in the car, singing and laughing that beautiful, unique laugh he was famous for. Although Chase’s time here on earth was unfairly way too short, his contributions to this world were everlasting. Chase is survived by his devoted parents Chip Dennison (Bonus Mom, Amber Goodwin) and Amy Sherrod (Stepfather Don Sherrod), adoring brothers Jaxson Sherrod and Brenden Sherrod, proud grandparents Pat and Sally Patterson, Vickie Bradshaw, Terry and Angie Dennison, admired Uncle Marty and Aunt Maria Patterson, special Aunty Kristy and Uncle Dan as well as many other Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Chase is preceded in death by his precious Na, Joan Patterson and loving Uncle, Eric Dennison. Services will be held at Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington, Michigan on September 14th, 2022. Visitation will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. and at 7:00 P.M. there will be a service celebrating the life of Chase Matthew Dennison. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family
