Duane E. Farr

JEDDO-- Duane E. Farr, 95, of Jeddo passed away October 9, 2023 peacefully on his family farm, in the home where he was born and raised. He was born June 29, 1928 in Jeddo to the late Franklin and Maude (O’Connor) Farr. He was a former milk hauler and a lifelong livestock and crop farmer. He married Jacqueline (Jones) Fuller on May 10, 1968 in Lexington. They were blessed with 55 years together. He loved farming, his cattle and horses, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling and participated in many state tournaments. He also enjoyed playing cards, playing softball for the Bethel Church team, and watching the Detroit Tigers. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him; he will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humor, generosity, stories, love of animals, and his love of his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Jackie “Granny”; children Carol Jo (Wayne) Trowhill, Stuart (Cindy) Farr, Maryann (Ted) Parker, Marjorie Fuller; grandchildren Kelli Bishop, Brigette (Lyle) Franzel, Nathan (Kimberly) Butler, Rob (Nikki) Butler, Brian Parker, Andrea (Johnathan) Kozloff; 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; siblings Franklin Farr, Jr., Betty (Jerry) Siegle; sister-in-law, Louise (late Kenneth) Jones; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by children Autry “Skeeter” Farr and Betsy (Fuller) Baird; siblings Dwight (Betty) Farr, Gerald (Carol) Farr, Laura (Lyle) Cole, sister-in-law Pat Farr; and special friend Jake. Visitation will be from 2- 9 P.M. on Thursday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Croswell. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at the funeral home, with visiting from 10-11. Pastors Rich Kriesch and Linda Fuller will officiate. Pallbearers will be William Shell, Jarold Hawks, Dennis Strevel, Kevin Farr, Rita Gutch, and Kari Farquhar. Burial will follow in the Croswell Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Bethel Community Church or Grant Township Fire Department. We would like to give a special thanks to all of Duane’s caregivers for their compassionate and loving care. Cheerio!
