Frederick C. Fogal

LEXINGTON- Frederick C. Fogal, 61, of Lexington, died Sunday, November 9, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. Fred was born April 18, 1953, in Port Huron, the son of the late Maurice (Moe) and Lois Ludy. He was the third child of six in the family. Fred married Debbie Parker in Lexington on June 28, 1986. He is survived by his wife; Debbie (Parker) Fogal of Lexington; three children, son, Chris Fogal of Lansing; and daughters, Rebecca and Jason July of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Ashley and Landon Snyder of Belleville; daughter-in-law, Dawn Fogal of Allendale; brothers, Jim and Connie Fogal of Port Huron, Don and Marci Fogal of Lexington, and Jeff Ludy of Lexington; sisters, Deanne and Rich Horvath of Croswell, and Lynette Vann of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren, Devin Fogal, Xander Fogal, Alexis Fogal, Kaiden July, Kylah July and Kamren July; and many nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his eldest son, Chad Fogal, who died July 2012; his grandparents; his parents, Earl Fogal, Moe Ludy, and Lois Ludy; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Parker. Fred attended Port Huron Northern High School and joined the Navy in 1970. After he was honorably discharged, Fred worked for the Ford Motor Company in Romeo and was a proud member of the UAW for 32.7 years, retiring in 2006. In retirement, he enjoyed spending winters in Florida, scouring the beaches for shark teeth and spending time with his wife. He also enjoyed golfing, in which he played in many leagues. Fred loved reading, fishing, gambling and a good debate among friends and family. Fred never missed a season for deer hunting and always counted on a guy’s hunting weekend with his brother, brother-in-law, and sons, enjoying the great outdoors and sometimes the casinos. Visitation will be held from 12-3 p.m. Saturday, November 15 at the Lexington United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. Maureen Baker and Rev. Rich Kriesch officiating. Dinner will be held at the church immediately following a burial at the Lexington Cemetery. Cremation will take place, per the family's request.
