Heriberto G. De La Rosa

Heriberto De La Rosa Jr. entered eternal rest on March 31, 2021, at the age of 76. He died peacefully at his residence in Croswell, Michigan. Heriberto was born June 9th, 1944, in El Gato, Texas, one of nine children born to Heriberto and Angelita De La Rosa. Heriberto had attended St. Patrick’s Catholic Church while living in Croswell. Born a Texan, he was a migrant worker at a young age and worked all over the country following seasonal work. He worked at Aunt Jane’s for 32 years until the day it closed, and went on to get his CDL and work in construction until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who appreciated nature and adored fishing, and hunting. “Gallo” as he was affectionately known by his family, he was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Heriberto was a deeply religious man, that instilled his deep faith of God in all of his family. He was a teacher of life, a father, a guide to God. He was the embodiment of love. Heriberto is survived by his wife, Oralia; 3 sons, Anthony (Wendy), Heriberto III (Jennifer), and Bonefacio De La Rosa; one daughter, Maria Angelita De La Rosa; 6 grandchildren, Aaron, Noah, Leo, Story De La Rosa, Caleb Orlando, and Keith Lada; one great grandchild, Levi De La Rosa Lada; brother, Guadalupe De La Rosa; and sisters, Olivia Martinez, Angela Lampin, and Hortencia Houston. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Niko De La Rosa Gofton, brother, Luis De La Rosa, and sisters, Andrea Escobedo, Gloria Hernandez, and Paula Trevino. A Catholic graveside service will be held on Saturday June 19 at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Croswell at 11 AM.
