Margaret Patricia Melcher

December 28, 1928 - June 21, 2020

LEXINGTON- Margaret Patricia Melcher “Pat”, 91, passed away peacefully, surrounded with love, Sunday, June 21, 2020 in hospice care at the Lakeshore AFC, where she was lovingly cared these past three years in Lexington, Michigan. She is remembered lovingly as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and most importantly a child of God. Her loving husband, Ken preceded her in his heavenly reward, as well as her parents, Margaret (Shay) and Herman Nolte, two sisters, Marie (Earnie Brandt) and Anne Coury and one brother, Frank (Pauline Rosa) and one stillborn child, Nicholas. She is survived by one brother-in-law, Ed Coury, 12 children, Jo Anne (Sr. Mary Grace OCD), Kathryn (Pete Arreloa, Mike Silardi), Mary Eckman, Bridget (David) Krupitzer, Tom (JoAnna), Bob, Bill (Fran), Margaret (Tom) Sheahan, Joseph (Amy), Therese (Joe Tomaszewski, the late Jim Chinavare), Paul (Lynda) and Beth (David) LeClerc, 26 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 9 nieces and nephews. Pat was the beating heart of our family, passionate in her faith, a prolific artist, known to sign her paintings, Sea Fever, musician and amazing life energy that flowed into all her relationships with those she loved. Mom was contemplative at heart and a vowed secular Carmelite. Her spirituality was a steady and steadying undercurrent to her entire existence. Pat loved the sea in all its forms, could find beauty in anything and her infectious laughter brightened every day. She will be dearly missed even as we rejoice that she has finally made it to her heavenly destination. Visitation will be from 2-8 P.M on Wednesday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Lexington. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday at the Ave Maria Parish- St. Denis Catholic Church in Lexington, with visiting from 10- 11 A.M., Fr. Donald J. Eppenbrock will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Denis Cemetery.
