Christina M. Hawks

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Christina Mae (McLane) Hawks, age 82, who left us on November 19, 2024. She was born on February 28, 1942, in Avoca, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Beatrice McLane. She married Clifford Hawks on September 5, 1959, and they began their family journey. She was a cherished mother to Robert (Pam) Hawks and Kimberley (Jim) Dundas and a proud grandmother to Ashley (Hawks) Martin, Cody (Jessica) Hawks, Emily Hawks, Charity Dundas and Carter Dundas. She would light up when she was around her great-grandchildren, Zoey Martin, Dylan Martin, and Sylvia Hawks. She also left behind her sister and best friend, Joyce (McLane) Bolligar and dear brother-in-law, Howard Rexford. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Beatrice McLane; her husband, Clifford Hawks; her sisters, Kathy Rexford and Marybelle Jeffrey; and her brothers, Richard McLane and Thomas McLane. Heaven is in for a wonderful reunion! Christina was cherished for her abundance of love and commitment to her family. She devoted herself to raising her children, always offering a compassionate ear, thoughtful advice, and support. As a grandmother, she found joy in being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will forever remain in their hearts. In addition to her deep love for her family, Chris had a passion for the thrill of the casinos. She found joy in the excitement of the games and if she won even a little bit, the whole casino would hear her cheer! She was known to not like to drive through snow, but if she had an opportunity to go to the casino, she plowed through the snow! She loved to laugh and have fun and had an infectious laugh. She also spent many years working at Black River Manufacturing in Port Huron where she made lasting friendships along the way. Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing she is now our angel, watching over us with love and care. We will forever hold her in our hearts and treasure the time we were blessed to share with her. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 27 at Pomeroy Funeral Home, Croswell. Rev. Linda Fuller will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26 from 3 to 8 PM, and 10-11 AM Wednesday, at the funeral home. Rest in peace. You will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
