Marie Theresa Heiden

MINDEN CITY- Marie Theresa Heiden, age 88 a resident of Minden City, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2023. She was born on November 29, 1934, in Sandusky and lived in the Port Sanilac area as a child, the daughter of the late Charles and Ialdea (Wagner) Husson. Marie moved to the Detroit area at the age of 17 where she worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. She met Edward John Heiden, Jr. and was married on October 22, 1955, eventually returning to the Forestville area where they raised their family. Marie was primarily a stay-at-home mother until her children started school. She then took a job as a cook, at Autumnwood of Deckerville where she retired after 25 years of service. Marie enjoyed gardening and collecting antiques, especially Hallmark Christmas ornaments. She also bowled for 25 years with friends for the Emerson’s Plumberet’s at the Gillis Hotel & Bowling Alley. Marie is survived by one daughter, Karen (Daniel) Leppek, and two sons, Kurt (Judith) Heiden, and Christopher (Mary) Heiden. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Heather (Bruce) O’Kronley, Heidi (Michael) Weber, Hope Kish, Eric Heiden, Chad Heiden, Dawn (Shawn) Bectel, Bailey Miller, Devin Heiden, and Katelyn Heiden. Eleven great grandchildren Samantha, Kayton, Alyssa, Dylan, Aaron, Addison, Kara, Bryce, Hannah, Austin, and Lauren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edward John Heiden, Jr. Parents, Charles and Ialdea (Wagner) Husson, brothers Kenneth (Beatrice) Husson, Donald (surviving wife Florence) Husson, and Eugene (Joyce) Husson. Father-in-law Edward J. and Alma (Faerber) Heiden, Sr. Sister-in-laws Dorthea (Arthur) Klawon, Alma (Robert) Bane, and half-sister Lucille Smith, brothers-in-laws William (Clara) Heiden, Harold (surviving wife Audrey) Heiden, and Elliot Heiden. Cremation has taken place, and inurnment will be in the East Delaware Township Cemetery, with a graveside gathering to be determined. Marie’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the friends and neighbors that had visited and kept an eye her and Ed in their later years, as well as the entire staff at the Lakeview Extended Care & Rehab Facility in Harbor Beach, where she was made to feel at home during her residence there the last few years of her life.
