Patricia J. Albrecht

PORT SANILAC- Patricia J. Albrecht was born on September 29, 1925 and died on Friday February 5, 2016 at Autumnwood of Deckerville. . Pat was born to Adolph and Frances Reiter in Providence Hospital in Detroit; attended Hasmer Elementary, Andrew Jackson Intermediate and graduated from Southeastern High School. She worked at Michigan Bell Telephone Co. as a typist and stenographer until she moved to the Carsonville area where she met and later married Ralph Albrecht on November 2, 1946. They lived most of their married life on the family farm and retired to relax and travel. Ralph preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by two children, Lawrence (Darlene) Albrecht of Grayling and Bonnie (Thomas) Zech of Port Sanilac. She was proud to be a foster mother to nine children over the year placed by the Lutheran Children’s Friend Society of Bay City, MI. Pat was active in many various projects over the years, among them: board member for the CPS school district, board member of Orchard Hall and worker at Huron House both dealing with retarded/handicapped adults. She was a member of the Sanilac Co. Historical Society and Actors Guild. She was head librarian for the Sanilac Twp. Library and fundamental in helping with the move from the old to new library. One of her proudest accomplishments was to be the organist for St. John Lutheran Church for over 50 years. Pat was also very proud to grandmother to 6 grandchildren: Mary (Joe) Price of Carsonville, Sara (R.J) Winter of Zeeland, Jennifer (Nick) Richmond of Croswell, Amanda (Ryan) Cayce of Lexington, Dwayne (Janel) Albrecht of Carsonville, and Rebecca (Dave) Lloyd of Fort Gratiot. Great grandmother to 16 and even great great grandmother to 2. She loved them all greatly and enjoyed time spent with them all. She also loved all animals and leaves behind her special cats, Sam and JoJo. In lieu of flowers please make donations if so desired to St. John Lutheran Church, Port Sanilac, or to the donor’s special wishes. Visitation will be from 2-9 on Monday at the Pomeroy Funeral Home in Carsonville. Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. on Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church in Port Sanilac, with visiting at the church from 10-11. Pastor Leo Thoms will officiate. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Joe Price, R.J. Winter, Nick Richmond, Ryan Cayce, Dwayne Albrecht, and David Lloyd II. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons, Joseph Price, Eli Price, IsaacPrice, Quade Price, Matthew Zech, Jake Richmond, Davey Lloyd III, Isaiah Lloyd Nicolas Laeder and Beckett Cayce.
