William C. Blomme

LAKEPORT- William C. Blomme, age 91 , a resident of Lakeport, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 in Clearwater, Florida. He was born to the late William and Esther Blomme in Detroit, Michigan on April 13, 1935. William and his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Strunk, were married on June 17, 1955 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in East Detroit. They were blessed with three daughters, Debra, Kay and Pamela. William and Patricia would have been married for 71 years in June. William was drafted in 1954 and served two years in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was a member of the Charles A. Hammond American Legion Post #8 and the Willow Ridge Golf Club. William graduated from East Detroit High School in 1952 and started working for Industrial National Bank in Detroit. He continued his education by taking banking classes in the evenings, receiving a Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Commercial Banking. During the time he was in the Army, Industrial merged with Manufacturers National Bank. William retired in 1993 from Manufacturers National Bank of Detroit, International Department, with 41 years of service. For many years, while living in Warren, William served as Treasurer of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church & School in East Detroit. When William retired he and Patricia moved to Lakeport and for many years he served as Treasurer of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington. William enjoyed working on cars and the yard and he and Patricia shared their retirement time in Michigan and South Pasadena, Florida. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Patricia of Lakeport; daughters, Kay Blomme of St. Petersburg, Florida and Pamela Anderson of Sedona, Arizona; three grandchildren, Shaina Ansari, Sean Clarey and Brett Clarey; five great-grandchildren, Ellie Clarey, Cameron Clarey, Mila Ansari, Noah Clarey and Alina Ansari; his brother, Kenneth (Marlene) Blomme of Michigan and his sister, Diane Mathison of Washington; several nieces and nephews William was preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Clarey. Visitation will be from 10- 11 A.M. on Friday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday morning at the church. Pastor Christopher Jung will officiate. Military Rites will immediately follow the church service at St. Matthew and will be provided by the Croswell American Legion. A luncheon will immediately follow in the church hall. Interment will be held later Friday afternoon in the Lakeport Cemetery.
